1.4 Binary

Binary is a base 2 format. Meaning you can represent denary or decimal numbers using a combination of 2 characters, 0 and 1.
Compare that to base 10 format where in maths, we can represent any number using a combination of 10 different characters from 0-9.
Computers are made up of switches which have one of two states: on or off / 0 or 1.
